2018 2nd/3rd Grade Optional Tournament

2nd/3rd Grade Tournament Info

The RYBA program will offer the annual 2nd and 3rd grade tournament.  It’s a field of dreams for kids getting their first chance to play on a real field, with chalked lines, outfield fences, scoreboards, and most of all, real dugouts! The focus of the tournament is to provide a competitive, fun, and unique learning experience for the young players.

Last year over 160 players squared off for kid-pitch and kid-catch baseball on the “big fields” at the Rochester Baseball Complex by the University Center Rochester (UCR). The tournament will again be held July 28th & 29th, 2018. There is NO additional cost for this tournament; however, you must be a registered player with RYBA baseball.

  •          Players will be assigned to a team of 2nd graders, 3rd graders, or combined 2nd and 3rd graders.
  •          Teams are typically divided based on current house league team, schools, and geography, but the coordinators may place kids on different teams as needed.
  •          Players simply wear their house team jersey…what we like to refer to as an “All-Star” jersey team
  •          Single teams from the house league can choose to sign up as an entire unit for the tournament.
  •          Teams play 3 games over the weekend and will typically have one practice before the tournament to meet the coach and team.
  •          The 2nd grade teams will follow 2nd grade rules and 3rd grade teams will follow 3rd grade rules.

THIS IS FOR PLAYERS IN THE 2nd & 3rd GRADE LEAGUES (that would be entering 3rd and 4th this fall)
